There will be no 'hatin', 'shadin' or 'trollin'.... Great job Germany!
No, I was not rooting for Germany in the FIFA World Cup. I did not even watch, any of their initial matches. But I must say that they smoothly and collectively did, what they always do. Without much fanfare and acrobatics, or unnecessary bantering. Without star names thrown around and 'teeth to flesh' incidents. Nor resorting to chant solicitations. They smoothly and elegantly, glided into the finals like a Porsche. Collectively picked up the golden cup and loaded it in a Mercedes CLA Coupe. Then they boarded a BMW series and bade the world goodbye.
I know their flight back to Germany, will be on time and enjoyable. They might have eaten gingerbread snacks (lebkuchen) and had frankfurters (würstchen) for dinner. Who knows?
Ironically Lufthansa the official German airline, is one of my favorite. They are very disciplined and diligent, with their time and service. And to me as a globetrotter, that is always important.
Too bad I wasn't predisposed, to fly that faithful day as a teenager in Berlin, Germany. All I could do was cramp myself (and friends), into the lower deck of that west bound passenger Ship. Thank GOD it was not the TITANIC! For at the first appearance of gushing water into the bottom deck, I would have probably been the first one to float away to the chimes of a best-selling love song. We were able to locate an empty cabin though, that was before the rightful owner came along. I did like to indulge, that adventurous memory and event. But then again, that would be another blog altogether. Wouldn't it?. Traurig!
So International Soccer Season, has come to a temporary end. It was fun though, while it lasted. Now I may rest my weary knees. Till next time, I wish my German friends:
