I am not an American Football fan. It is nothing personal, just that I get dizzy and have a headache watching grown men slam into each other. I mean I can almost hear their brains vibrate. No type of helmet could evade the constant impact and trauma these poor people's heads must endure. So how did I get on sport injuries, this is not even a medical blog. Sigh....
My other issue with this sport, is I am yet to see the part where the foot meets the ball. Hence its name 'football'. The only football I know is soccer. And soccer gets me intensely involved as far as an extracurricular activity should. So with these in mind, I completely ignored the squealing Sea-hawk fans and the abrasive Bronco ones. That is until my encounter.
I woke up Saturday morning with a sense of bravado. Put on a bright green dress, blue tights and a silver jacket and hit the streets to run some errands. As I walked down the street, I started to think to myself , "What the bright green was my problem?" I mean what sought of ensemble was I sporting. It felt weird and out of character. I mean unless I was auditioning for a Lime Juice commercial, there was no need to be so bright green and silver all at the same time. So there I was, breezing down the streets of Manhattan. Spreading brightness (of the green kind) and cheer when a loud Bronco fan group walked by...
Someone from the group asked me roughly as I tried to scoot by unnoticed ( he appeared dazed and reeked of alcohol). "Are you a Sea-hawks fan?" And I was like: "See-who?" Then he said "How come you have those colors...?" Well I was a little taken aback and slighted at the same time. Although I had asked myself the same question earlier, he made it seem like I broke the law. So I said ... "The Sea-hawks will win the Super Bowl. For two reasons as far as I am concerned. They are from Seattle and I happen to be wearing these colors today "Bite me!" Then I ran for my dear life...
