Sleeping Beauty (The Second Chronicles)

Crossing enemy lines to freedom....

Clang! bang! and squeaky twists, were all you could hear. As 'Beauty' struggled to move, within the confines of her 'oppressor' imposed shackles. The cage-like bubble, was giving way now. There were cracks beginning to show up periodically, in the man-made bubble. Simply because in 'Beauty's' heart, there was now a resolve to break free and be all she was born to be. I mean, think of it; if the curse and spells and everything mean thrown at her, had not killed her. Then there was no need for her to lay back, on the straw bed in a cage. With chains all over her limbs and watch life swish by, as she played dead! I mean you can't be dead if you are not dead, can you? Phew... Well back to the story before I got excited...

So off 'Beauty' went, or at least tried to go dragging her setbacks along with her. Wow, she thought, what a hard long journey to go and appeal to the King to save her from the 'oppressors'. They just might catch up with her, before she even gets to the Kings gates. Feels like wandering around in circles. One sad situation after another and another and... you get the point.

As Beauty shuffled on, she had to walk through the 'hall of pain'. It seemed endless and on every side were cages filled with cries of agony, pain and misery. These cries made beauty very sad. There were also sneers and jeers of taunts coming from the same cages. Amazing how people in the same situation react differently.

One group knew they needed help and wanted out of the situation like 'Beauty', but the others either did not know or did not think they needed help. So they laughed at 'Beauty' and scorned her mission. "The 'Mean Queen' is in charge they chanted and she rewards us very well to do her bidding!" Rewards you well? Questioned 'Beauty' in her head, then why oh why are you still in the cage, while her 'wicked highness' roams the region freely looking for more prey? Well...??? Hmm. 'Beauty' scurried on in her head while her feet followed in a shuffle. She really could not wait for the answer, because really there was none plausible.

All 'Beauty' knew, was that she was on a mission to see the King and tell Him about her plight and perhaps of those she met crying at the 'hall of pain'. How noble an attempt... but almost impossible. However, unbeknownst to 'Beauty' the King had already sent help every step of the way to guide her along. (You see in His kingdom He knew what took place at every nook and cranny. What a relief! It might take a lifetime to explain her impediments) He (the King) wanted 'Beauty to make it, so that when she got the help she needed... (that would be a different blog for a different time. My sincere apologies)

One of the people sent by the King along the way, was a kind and wise old man. He had very serious eyes and he looked intently at 'Beauty' as he said; "Keep going little one, do not stop now. The King knows you are coming and He waits for you". Really, thought 'Beauty' (sarcastically), it would be nice if He just had all these obstacles removed already so I can move quickly... I am wasted and tired! "You see, said the kind old man (as if he read her thoughts) with an equally kind smile, the obstacles were there to make you strong.

By pulling at the cage, you built your upper body muscles and moving with those chains on your feet strengthened your feet and made them strong, fast and furious ...." Suddenly there was a loud crashing noise and he was gone. And there in the place where he stood, a small window on a high wall slowly appeared. And the most contorted painted face 'Beauty' had ever seen (actually 'Beauty' had seen a similar face when she was a little girl) looked out and said... I (the writer) really cannot repeat everything, because it gives me flashbacks and makes me cry. I definitely need a moment to dab my eyes. But I can tell you this much.

She said; "You dare take one more step..., you intimidating and indestructible ugly little girl. You jumped over all my traps, evaded my schemes, were undeterred by my chains, you know me and my tactics well, because you were programmed from the start and trained to know. Your very existence, makes me sick and hard for me to reign. I hate the very air you breathe and I am in alliance with those that hate you too! Yes even the one you knew as a child. We have consulted on how we could destroy you once and for all! Now here you are again with your images supporting a forbidden culture and shaking my kingdom! You take one more step and YOU HAVE CROSSED THE LINE!!...." She snarled at beauty, baring her teeth or what appeared to be teeth. Excuse me ma'am 'Beauty' struggled to get a word in, "whose line is it really?" (to be continued)

Join me next time, as we find out, did 'Beauty' keep going or did she allow 'queen meanie' to keep her caged as her 'royal meanness continued to cause havoc in the King's region.

Have a splendid day!
