"A Star shall come..."
"And look the Star went before them.."
NORTHWESTERN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA:
The young couple held hands and prayed as the ambulance rolled along the wet streets. It had rained all day and everything felt damp, including their moods. Their desire and desperate cry was that this one would be spared the fate of the others. They still had almost three months more to go before this all too familiar disturbance. But five hours and a successful operation later, the nurse handed the beaming father his first child and baby girl. "Looks like she would be tall like her daddy with all those inches," said the nurse with a smile. "Oh yes she will indeed, oh yes she will," finished the delighted and proud father.
EVIL HEAD-QUARTERS OF THE UNIVERSE:
Lucer barged into the wide, crowded and bustling room, and stumped towards his startled and quaking general. His once handsome face now severely contorted in hate, wrath and damnation. But his pride and darkness would never let him see the gruesomeness that was him or the repulsion that he oozed. His mind was forever sealed to anything enlightening, revelatory and new. He did not care though, because he was very diligent and shrewd in working what he already had. Who needed new ways when the old way still worked effectively and the victims were ever so willing or easy prey.
He usually did not pay office visits to these trampling workers, but the urgency of the report required his immediate attention. Belzy the general shuddered at his master's looming and imposing presence as he struggled and stuttered at every word. He (Lucer) appeared larger than life. But what it was, was that he sucked the very life out of any creature that was around him. Whereas there was a GIVER of life, his master Lucer was definitely the taker of it.
"What is this I hear about a glitch!" bellowed Lucer as he grabbed Belzy by the throat and lifted him of the ground. He was head above everyone else and his fierceness in manner magnified his physical strength. General Belzy struggled to free his constricted throat and catch a desperate breath. Meanwhile, his legs dangled and flailed simultaneously in the air. When Lucer saw he was not getting the desired response, he unceremoniously dumped the stumpy general to the ground and began flinging every object and creature in sight.
When Balka the second general saw his master's unprovoked rage, (which was an all too normal and frequent sighting to say the least) he rushed forward waving a bunch of papers in the air. "My lord", started Balka. "We have a solution, or at least have a plan to work something out." It is still too early to be classified a formidable threat and we can always start now to set up the havoc, entanglements and every cohort needed along the way. It is still just a glitch, and we have not really pin-pointed where the exact location or source is." A nervous Balka tried to convince his master. "Actually we do," interjected Balma the chief star-gazer. "It seems convoluted and unlikely, but then you know how HE...." "Don't say that name!!" bellowed Lucer again. "Enough!" "I know all about that." "What I really need to know from you weasels, is the star being monitored? Is the source being tracked down and identified?" "Are the required personalities being prepared?"
"My lord," came in Levat the chief of principality as he tried so hard to control his quivering lips. Having done this for centuries, he still could not get a grip when he spoke to his master. "You know we cannot know for certain the Enemy's plans, but we intend to follow this 'star' and every activity associated with and around it." "We know the signs and patterns of impending doom. And we don't just sit around and wait for it to happen. We start working parallel to it. Where HE goes, there we go also because that is where the real action is."
"But from what I see, we have covered the greatest threat ever and the clones HE left behind, Why should this seemingly inconspicuous star pose that great a problem?" That came from Sorcera the chief strategist. "It is the timing you fool!" bellowed Lucer yet again. "It is in the final stages, the wrapping up of time and if anything goes wrong, everything goes wrong. Do you get it block-head?! We are running out of time! Now get your ugly tails swooshing and start devising plans." "Every thing on deck, no holds barred, Use everything, covenants, soul debts, traps, human implants, set ups,... everything!" "Yes my lord," said Belzy as they all bowed out in unison. "One more thing you should know my lord," supplied Balma the chief star-gazer as he tried to squeeze out the door while avoiding his master's glazed and murderous glare. "Its, its, its just a girl...." The flying table missed him by an inch and a second as he quickly shut the door and rapidly scuttled away.
Even though they were immortal beings, they felt that Lucer killed them each moment spent around him. But nothing could be done now. It was a choice they made and a fate that was doomed and sealed forever. However, there was still work to be done.
NORTHEASTERN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA:
The girl in question watched as the three woeful and frustrated witches walked out of the mid-Manhattan hotel. They were clad in the color of their 'sisterhood', which was also the color of death. She knew who they were, because one of them was an unrelenting and vile household enemy. The other two were yet unknown to her, but she made a mental and photographic note of their faces. They looked as repugnant as all the activities they had propagated the past week. Activities that proved expensive, futile and eventually to no avail. She knew they had come for her, but she had been absolutely no where to be found. The 'frenemies' that had been allotted to her could not for the life of them detect her whereabouts too. How in the world did one girl whom they had seen to it that she was robbed of her resources, recourse and rest keep deluding a vast conglomerate and network such as this?
The project: 'eliminate the threat' benefactor and 'second in desperation' to the cause, was not there to bid her cohorts 'adieu'. She did not have to be, she was the matriarch. She had an empire to run. An empire half consisting of her clones doing her bidding in exchange for worthless titles, positions, cash, opportunities and gifts. An empire though having the face, form and gender of another, was actually being run by her desires, words and actions. She indeed held the helm and had for a very long time. As she systematically eliminated anyone and anything in her way. Now she had spent a lot of money on these sorceresses to come and eventually help her eliminate the girl once and for all! This was the only reason she and the girl's household enemy were in cohoots.
This was the thing she liked about the 'dark kingdom'. They stuck together till the job was done. Even though they could not stand each other. Employing the help of these hapless cult members, was her last and desperate attempt. Time was of great essence and once again, she along with them had failed. Surely WHOEVER was with this girl, in her and around her was insurmountable. Yes she as a ring-leader and witch, played lip service to all that belief stuff. But she always knew where her loyalties and alliances lay.
The girl kept watching, even as their (the witches') luggage were loaded into the airport bound cars. Perturbed that with all the forgiveness, kindness, protection and help that she had bestowed on the household witch, she would still choose to cling to evil and eventually collaborate with a complete stranger to try to destroy her. Both witches (along with the other peripheral and smaller ones along the way and through the years), had an insatiable desire to completely annihilate the girl. But why??? What were they so afraid of? Why were they so threatened?
A star was born and so was a riveting drama. Stay tuned.
